Learn to design for fabrication: 
* CAD for 3D printing
* Inkscape for vinyl cutting (& eventually laser cutting)

 

Simple Circuits

Tue 17th Apr 10:00am – 12:00pm

Wearables, paper circuits, Arduino

Get into basic electronics: make paper circuit cards, wearables (ANZAC poppies?) or learn a little more on how to get into basic robotics via Arduino boards.

Tech with the Whānau

An extension of our regular Wednesday programme, this is an opportunity for families to work on projects together, making full use of the tools & resources available in the MakerSpace: 3D printers, vinyl cutter, electronics, textiles, etc

Program our mBots or work/build your own

Learn to program our mBot robots or come in to work on (or build?) your own.

Warm-up session for the Combat Robotics NZ Antweight tournament on 22 April.

Game on!

A return to our regular, extremely popular, fun & games on Fridays!

Come build on the shared world.

If you have your own computer or account, please bring that along, as we have limited machines available for use.

There will be a short break after the session before continuing afternoon session.

This coming Tuesday (10/04/2018) Find Your Voice will be running a Music That Moves You workshop! at the Te Atatu Peninsula Community Centre

This empowerment programme is for young women between the ages 14 - 18.

Very excited to announce this event with the founder of the London School of Sound - Federico Bersano Begey.

From Bedroom to Business will give you all the skills you need to earn an income from the work you do with your music!!!

This is an incredible opportunity that should not be missed! Sunday the 11th of March at the Te Atatu Peninsula Community Centre

Thank you to The Crescendo Trust Of Aotearoa for putting this on!

Topics covered:

·  Music production and sound engineering.

·  The songwriting process and composition.

·  Introduction to music business and how to take your bedroom beats and start making a move into the industry.

·  Encouragement for young people and their care-givers that this is a legitimate career path (please encourage young people to bring parents and guardians if they think it might help them to be more supportive of their pursuit of work in music / creative industries)

·  Royalties, licensing, APRA NZ, how to make a living doing what you love.

·  How to stand out in a digital / saturated market. Online marketing, changes in the industry, how record companies work, self-promotion, management, distribution, etc.

·  Advice on DAWS, hardware, home studio set up, instruments, plug ins, etc.

·  General knowledge, inspiration and encouragement from someone who started out in a band, signed with a record company, went on tour, started a music school.

·  There will also be a live demonstration of building a song in Logic to show the process and to provide an example of the key points of the talk as well as helpful clips, videos and links.

Find Your Voice! New programme!

Are you a young woman interested in expressing your creativity, learning about song-writing, and gaining more confidence?
Are you aged between 14-18 years?
Do you live in or near Te Atatu?
Starting 28th November we are starting a new 4 week programme - - - Find Your Voice!
Build resilience, express your creativity, find your unique voice and feel empowered in a safe and welcoming place. 
There will be opportunities to collaborate with Crescendo Trust and other young musicians and producers
to help you with recording, producing, developing and performing your songs and projects. Come join in!
Runs for four weeks on Tuesdays from 4:30pm – 6:00pm ending on the 19th of December.
